The ROC has honored Sergey Shishkarev's contribution to the development of the Olympic movement, physical culture and sports
The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) has awarded Sergey Shishkarev, its vice-president and chairman of the Supreme Council of the Russian Handball Federation (HFR), with a certificate of merit for his significant contribution to the development of the Olympic movement, physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation. ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov personally presented the award at a meeting of the organization's Executive Committee.
“I am grateful to my colleagues from the Olympic Committee and the Handball Federation of Russia. Together we managed to elevate handball to a new level and revive mass interest in national handball. Today our women's national team is objectively one of the strongest in the world, the men have also significantly progressed in class. I am sure they will win Olympic medals for our country numerous times,” said Sergey Shishkarev.
Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, took over the HFR in April 2015, initiating a number of systemic changes in the sport. As early as the summer of 2016, the Russian women's handball team won gold at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and five years later took silver at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Delo Group is a general partner of the HFR. Companies of the Group support a number of professional Russian handball clubs: women's clubs Chernomorochka, Kuban and CSKA, men's clubs Zilant and CSKA.<br>
