Sergey Shishkarev announced the creation of a film about footballer Fyodor Cherenkov
Sergey Shishkarev, General Producer of the “Made in Delo” Production Center and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, announced the creation of a feature film about the legendary footballer of FC Spartak Moscow and the USSR national football team, Fyodor Cherenkov.
The premiere of the film under the working title "Fedya. The People's Footballer" is scheduled for 2024, with the filming process to be completed in 2023. Nikolay Lebedev (the author of films "Legend No. 17", "Flight Crew") will act as artistic director of the project, scriptwriters: Ilya Kazakov and Nikolay Akelkin, director of photography: Nikolay Akelkin. Some stars of Russian cinema are involved in the film: Boris Scherbakov (as Nikolay Starostin), Nikolay Fomenko (as Konstantin Beskov), Igor Petrenko (as F.Cherenkov’s father), Sergey Migitsko (as the doctor) and others. The film crew includes professionals who have won the highest national awards of the film industry: costume designer Catherine Dyminskaya (Golden Eagle Award-2023 award for the "Heart of Parma" movie), editing director Serik Beiseu (Golden Eagle Award-2017 for the "Salut-7" movie). The project also involves professional football players, and not only for the action scenes. The understudy for the role of F. Cherenkov will be Roman Vorobyov, a former Russian national football team player. Alexander Borodyuk, an Olympic football champion and Merited Coach of Russia, is engaged to coach the football combinations.
"We pay special attention to historical authenticity. Filming will start in July, and we plan to finish it in September. Some filming will take place in Belarus. As for the financial component, some money for the film will be provided from our own funds. We are also planning to apply for a Cinema Fund contest. We hope that we will get a grant. I will leave an intrigue who will play Cherenkov," said Sergey Shishkarev during the press conference dedicated to the film.
The press conference was also attended by FC Spartak Director General Evgeny Melezhikov, F.Cherenkov's daughter Anastasia, former FC Spartak and USSR national team goalkeeper Rinat Dasaev, FC Spartak Academy President Sergey Rodionov, and actors Boris Scherbakov and Nikolay Fomenko.
Fyodor Cherenkov holds the record for the number of games played for Spartak (494). As member of the club he became the champion of the USSR (1979, 1987, 1989), the champion of Russia (1993), winner of the Cup of Russia (1994). In 1983 and 1989 F. Cherenkov was named the best footballer of the country. He played 34 matches for the USSR national team and scored 12 goals, becoming the bronze medalist of the 1980 Olympic Games as a member of the national team. He passed away on 4 October 2014 at the age of 55.
The picture will be the first large-scale project of the “Made in Delo” Production Center, which was established in August 2022 for production of films, videos, and television programs.
