Sergey Shishkarev Discussed the Modernization of Transport Infrastructure and Demographic Initiatives of Delo Group with the Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), Gennady Zyuganov
Sergey Shishkarev, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, held a working meeting with Gennady Zyuganov, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. They discussed issues related to the modernization of transport infrastructure and the sports and social projects of Delo Group.
Shishkarev informed the CPRF leader about the major projects implemented by the Group to modernize its port and railway assets, aiming to provide efficient logistics for domestic companies. This includes the reconstruction of the terminal in Zabaikalsk, which significantly increased its capacity to half a million TEUs. They also discussed the development prospects of transportations through international transport corridors, including the North-South ITC. Amidst the eastward shift of cargo flows, they touched on the prospects of increasing the capacity of the Baikal-Amur Mainline and the Trans-Siberian Railway – a long-standing advocacy point of the CPRF. Zyuganov recalled that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the construction of BAM, a major national youth construction project.
“Within the terms of shifting cargo flows eastward and the increased load on this direction’s infrastructure, the uninterrupted supply of key goods and cargoes depends on the dynamic development of infrastructure and coordinated actions of the state and the business community. We continue to invest in expanding the capacities of our assets to cope with the cargo volumes”, noted Sergey Shishkarev.
He also briefed Zyuganov on the social protection of workers in Delo Group, including a corporate demographic program that significantly increases support measures from the birth of the third child, offering a million rubles for the third and subsequent children, additional payments during maternity leave, childcare compensation, camp vouchers, and other benefits.
Since Gennady Zyuganov is a great sports enthusiast and specifically a fan of handball, the leaders exchanged views on the most pressing issues and discussed the international arena’s situation. Shishkarev acknowledged the contribution of Zyuganov’s party colleague, former vice-president of the Russian Handball Federation Ruslan Gostev, to the sport’s development in the Voronezh region.
