Petrolesport marine multifunctional terminal (PLP), which is located in the Big Port of St. Petersburg and is part of the Delo Group holding of Global Ports, has started handling a regular container service linking St. Petersburg with Brazilian ports. This service provides additional opportunities for export and import cargo transportation for Global Ports customers between Russia and Latin American countries. The shipping operator for this route is M-Line, a company that is part of the freight forwarding company Modul. The route is currently operated by the 1,100 TEU container vessel MYD TIANJIN, with plans for an additional vessel in the future. The Brazilian ports included in the rotation are Paranaguá, Itajaí, Rio Grande, and Santos, with a transit time of 30 to 35 days.
The container vessels will primarily transport bitumen, carbon black, rubber, cellulose, and steel for export. In terms of import, the shipments will include coffee, peanuts, meat products, industrial and cosmetic chemicals, as well as agricultural machinery.
M-Line has been a long-standing partner of Global Ports. The Line offers regular container transportation between FCT, PLP, and ULCT terminals and ports in India, China, and Egypt, in addition to non-containerized cargo, including complex project shipments.
