The Alley will be a part of a memorial museum history complex for Russian navy, created in 2003 through initiative of navy veterans.
Busts of the great naval commanders, whose victories brought glory to our country and its navy, will be installed in the Alley of Marine Honor.
This year, while approaching the Navy Day, the first bust for admiral F.F. Ushakov was ceremonially installed in the Alley. Admiral F.F. Ushakov, Black Sea Fleet commander, brought numerous victories to our Motherland. He is rightly viewed as the founder of Russian tactic school in naval science. In 2001 he was canonized as righteous warrior Fedor Ushakov.
The Moscow Maritime assembly, Maritime information agency and personally Sergey Shishkarev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation, initiated creation and installment of this monument.
During the opening ceremony Sergey Shishkarev said: “I wish that our young generation knew more about Russian heroes, honored their bravery and heroic acts to the glory of the Motherland, respected army and fleet. Russian navy is our glory and pride”.
