Sergey Shishkarev and the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtyarev reviewed the state of affairs in Russian handball

Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Russian Handball Federation (RHF) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, held a working meeting with the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtyarev. The meeting was centered on the state of affairs in Russian handball, both at the professional and children's and youth levels.

Sergey Shishkarev briefed Mikhail Degtyarev on the RHF operations and the recent progress made in the development of the sport. The parties discussed the return of Russian clubs and national teams to the international arena and the domestic handball agenda. The Russian Sports Minister noted that the players managed to maintain a rather high level of rivalry in the Russian championship. In addition, during the meeting the topic of the upcoming changes in the Russian Olympic Committee was raised. Earlier, the RHF had nominated Mikhail Degtyarev for the post of the ROC President, for which he thanked the entire handball community.

The Chairman of the RHF Supreme Council told the Russian Sports Minister about his athletic path: how he started playing football and how he came to handball. At the end of the meeting, he presented him with valuable gifts: a book about the victory of the women's handball team at the 2016 Olympic Games and a replica of the silver medal of the 2021 Olympics. Mikhail Degtyarev noted the contribution of the players and coaching staff to the achievements at the Brazil and Japan Games.

“We have agreed to maintain regular contacts, we have planned a joint visit to Novorossiysk, we plan to show Mikhail Vladimirovich the sports infrastructure, where a unique football and handball symbiosis is successfully functioning. Another major issue on the agenda is to decide on the location for the construction of a new soccer stadium. In addition, we discussed the promotion of the award “For Fidelity in Football”, which we announced together in the summer in the TASS agency”, - said Sergei Shishkarev.
