Sergey Shishkarev and Rustam Minnikhanov discussed the development of handball and logistics in Tatarstan

Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, had a business meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, on the premises of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). The meeting focused on the Group's current operations in the Republic, as well as sports projects.

The parties discussed the prospects of improving logistics performance for the region's importers and exporters through further containerization of the cargo base, as well as expansion of logistics services using Delo Group's proprietary terminal at Lagernaya station. In 2022, the terminal was reconstructed, which boosted its processing capacity by 60% to 31,000 TEU per year.

«Tatarstan is developing systematically and consistently. We believe there are prospects both in strengthening the transportation and logistics base and services for clients, and in joint development of sports initiatives. We look forward to productive collaboration at the BRICS summit in Kazan, which is scheduled to take place in October», – said Sergey Shishkarev.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan is an active participant of foreign economic operations. Over the past years, the Republic has significantly increased trade turnover with the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and China. The growth has doubled by the end of the previous year. He reminded that the President of the country has identified diversification of logistics routes as one of the priority targets, primarily through the creation of the North-South transport corridor.

Continuing the existing cooperation in the field of sports, the parties agreed to co-finance handball projects in the republic in 2025, and also touched upon the movie project “Fedya. People's Footballer”, which will premiere in late October in Moscow. The picture was created by the “Made in ‘Delo’" production company and is dedicated to the former ‘Spartak Moscow’ player, Fedor Cherenkov. Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out the significance of the positive example of national heroes for the upbringing of the youth. The parties agreed to broadly present the movie in the republic.

A cooperation agreement was signed between Delo Group and the Republic of Tatarstan in 2023 to develop the region's transportation and logistics potential. It provides for joint work of the parties to strengthen the competitiveness of railway container transportation and increase the level of cargo containerization in the region.
